Is there a way to increase the text size in Windows 8 apps? I find the text size way too small in most of the news reader apps. Seems like you should be able to increase or decrease the text size the same as you do in a browser using CTRL+ or CTRL -, or your mouse wheel.
Find out how to adjust the font size of file names, folders, and other text found in the Finder of OS X.
You can increase the text size on the desktop but it doesn't appear to have any effect under Metro, or whatever you are calling it nowadays. There should probably be a setting to increase text size under PC Settings! IMO, I would find it likely that many people out there would not buy a W8 tablet since the text is to small to read! This needs fixed ASAP!
Edit: I notice many Apps are being updated to help with this issue. Unfortunately not on the App primary screen, only after you select an article to read will the improvement become noticeable, or selectable. Hello, From the Start Screen just type the word 'font' and select the Settings filter on the right. You should see an option to 'Make text and other items larger or smaller'. Click on that and adjust the text or everything to the desired size.Curt These instructions only change the DPI ratio of the screen when in the classic Windows UI.
The new Windows UI however does not change at all when this setting is altered (which, in itself, is rather unfortunate). The only way to change the font size of Windows Store apps is as follows: 1. Click on the Start button to get the new Windows UI 2. Start typing 'font' (without quotes) 3. Click on 'Settings' 4. Click on 'Make everything on your screen bigger'; this opens PC settings (which is different from the classic Configuration Screen) 5.
Set 'Make everything on your screen bigger' to On. Personally, I still find this too small for many apps, but it's a small improvement over the default settings.
